During the transition to a twelve-year education system, new textbooks were developed that, according to Daniyar Ashymov, the chief editor of the state institution "Publishing House 'Okuu Kitebi'", feature an engaging approach. He shared this on the air of "Birinchi Radio".

Ashymov noted that at the initial stage, training sessions were held for teachers, where representatives of the "Marshall Cavendish" publishing house explained the unique features of their educational materials.

“The preparation of the textbooks involved the best educators and experts who worked in groups on the translation and adaptation of the material. The publishing process turned out to be lengthy and complex, as there was no similar experience in our history of implementing a complete range of materials from grades 1 to 12, for example, in mathematics. We faced difficulties, but we were able to overcome them. Schools have already started receiving the first copies of the new textbooks,” he reported.

According to him, learning is always a complex process.

“Acquiring new knowledge requires significant effort, especially for first graders. They need to be quickly engaged in the learning process and maintain the attention of adolescents. Our textbooks are created with these tasks in mind. As for the Cambridge system, from grade 1, students are offered topics that they will study over several years. Sometimes there is criticism regarding the complexity of textbooks for the first grade, but this is precisely the difference—children are introduced to serious topics from an early age, presented in an accessible language. This contributes to the formation of a competency-based approach, where memorization is not the goal. Next year, the topics will deepen, and each year the volume of information will increase,” he added.

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the transition to the twelve-year program will affect students in grades 1, 2, 5, and 7, for whom new textbooks have been developed.

In total, 744 million soms were allocated from the state budget for the printing of textbooks in 2025.
