In anticipation of the New Year celebrations, the Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communication reminds us: there is no safe dose of alcohol.

Experts emphasize that every shot of alcohol is a serious stress for the body, causing its destruction. The effects of alcohol affect all organs and systems.

However, the most significant damage occurs in the brain.
Every sip of alcohol leads to irreversible reduction of the cells in the cerebral cortex, which do not regenerate.

Studies show that 100 milliliters of a 40-degree drink destroys about 1000 cells of gray matter, which are excreted from the body with urine the next morning.

Australian scientists have found that even among those who consume alcohol in moderate amounts (two to three times a week), there is a gradual reduction in brain size, which can lead to alcohol-related dementia.
Alcohol is associated with approximately 60 different diseases, and in most cases, there is a direct correlation between the dose and the body's response.

“This means that the risk of illness increases with the amount consumed. The New Year is a great time to give up this harmful habit for your own health,” doctors strongly advise.
