A monument to the film director Tölömüş Okeeva has been erected in Bishkek

On December 30, a monument was unveiled in Bishkek to the outstanding film director, People's Artist of the USSR, and public figure Tölömüş Okeev. The information about this event was disseminated by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

Important figures present at the ceremony included State Secretary Arslan Koychiev, Presidential Advisor Marat Imankulov, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Umbetaly Kydyraliev, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, as well as the Secretary General of the international organization TURKSOY Sultan Raev. Among the guests were also representatives of the A. Akmatov Public Foundation, Okeev's colleagues, state and public figures, as well as artists.

Tölömüş Okeev became famous for such films as "Bakaydyng Zhaiyty," "Kök Serek," "Kyzyl Alma," "Altyn Küz," "Kozhozhash," and "Urkuya." His works reflect the spiritual values, history, and worldview of the Kyrgyz people, thereby contributing to the international recognition of Kyrgyz cinema.

The Ministry of Culture noted that the film "Bakaydyng Zhaiyty" was included in the list of the 100 best films in the world, which was an important step towards the international fame of Kyrgyz cinema.

The unveiling of the monument was part of the events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the director and aimed at preserving his contribution to the culture of Kyrgyzstan, as well as passing on his creative legacy to future generations.
