Deputy Kamila Talieva responded to the criticism expressed by the head of the information policy department of the presidential administration, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, on social media on January 14. He urged deputies to abandon populism and demagoguery in the process of discussing bills, specifically mentioning initiatives related to the improvement of Bishkek and the draft law on state awards.

At a recent parliamentary meeting, Talieva noted that deputies should not be told how to do their job and emphasized that they thoroughly study the bills.

“We consider bills as quickly as we crack sunflower seeds. I read each of them at least ten times, and there is no need to claim that we do not understand their essence. My opinion on state awards is based on my experience as the Minister of Culture. I speak into a microphone that belongs not to Orunbekov, but to the people,” she added.

Furthermore, Kamila Talieva mentioned that she was approached by residents of the Ayil Okmotu Arashan, where about five thousand people live. According to her, local residents face problems when going down to the city and back, suffering from serious traffic jams. They also experience a lack of public transport, and there is no traffic light at the turn from 7 April Street.

The deputy reported that bus No. 12 runs only twice a day—morning and evening—and local residents are asking to extend the route of bus No. 51 by three kilometers. “We cannot ignore the written appeal of 500 people, as local authorities are unable to help them,” she concluded.
