Speed control introduced on roads in Kyrgyzstan

7,406 violations detected

In Kyrgyzstan, average speed control is being introduced on highways. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobur Urmambetov announced the testing of a new system at a meeting of the parliamentary committee.

According to him, special cameras are already operating in test mode, and to date, 7,406 cases of exceeding the established speed limit have been recorded.

The goal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not only to identify individual violations but also to monitor compliance with speed limits over certain sections of the road, which may lead to a reduction in the number of traffic accidents.

As Urmambetov noted, about 70% of all accidents occur due to speeding.
