
Almost half of the respondents opposed such an acquisition—47% do not approve of the U.S. president's desire to control the autonomous territory of Denmark.
Moreover, 71% of survey participants believe that using military force to seize the island is a "bad idea," while only 4% consider this option a "good" one. Two-thirds of those surveyed are confident that such actions could negatively impact U.S. relations with European countries and NATO.
As for the strategic importance of Greenland to the U.S., opinions are divided: 33% consider the island important, 32% view it as less significant, and 35% were unsure of their response.
