The decree on the appointment was signed by the president
Sadyr Japarov, the president of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed a decree appointing Janar Akayev to the position of mayor of Osh. This decision is based on Article 71 of the country's Constitution and Article 47 of the Law "On Local State Administration and Local Self-Government Bodies," as reported by the president's press service.
Janar Akayev was born on December 13, 1986, in the village of Kabylen-Kol, located in the Aksy district of the Osh region. In 2009, he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Osh State University.
Akayev began his career in 2008, working for the Kyrgyz service of Radio "Azattyk." In 2015, he took the position of press secretary to the president of Kyrgyzstan.
Since October 2015, he has represented the SDPK in the Jogorku Kenesh of the VI convocation. From 2015 to 2017, he served as deputy chairman of the committee on social issues, education, science, culture, and health.
He is a recipient of the "Golden Pen of Eurasia" award (2011) and the "Kurch Kalem" award (2014). Janar Akayev is married and has three children.
