He dedicated his life to serving in the GKNB
On January 27, 2026, Colonel of the Reserve Serik Kekенович Abiev passed away at the age of 54.
Born in 1972, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State National University named after J. Balasagyn with a degree in "Law" in 1995.
He began his career in the national security agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic in November 1995. During his years of service, Abiev held numerous responsible positions, including:
- from 1995 to 2001 — in the Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;
- from 2001 to 2003 — in the GKNB KR Department for the Naryn Region;
- from 2003 to 2006 — again in the Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;
- from 2012 to 2014 — Assistant to the Chairman of the GKNB KR;
- from 2014 to 2017 — in the Anti-Terrorism Center of the GKNB KR;
- from 2017 to 2022 — in the Main Investigative Department of the GKNB KR;
- from 2022 to 2024 — in the Academy of the GKNB KR;
- from 2024 to 2025 — Deputy Head of the SPO of the GKNB KR.
Serik Kekенович was awarded numerous departmental awards for his achievements in service and received a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. He raised a whole generation of employees, teaching them honesty, justice, and respect for traditions, as well as how to carry the title of officer with dignity and serve their country.
The leadership, veterans, and all personnel of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
