At a meeting with representatives of international organizations and diplomats, which was held under the leadership of Azizbek Adylbekov, head of the international cooperation, investment, and tourism sector of the representative office, key issues were discussed. Participants in the negotiations included the Consul General of Russia in Osh, Roman Svistin, as well as representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Oleg Guchgeldiev and the OSCE Dmitry Prudskikh.

During the discussions, the parties touched on topics such as climate-resilient practices, water resource management, and irrigation modernization. They also explored opportunities for further cooperation within the framework of the artificial glacier project and new joint initiatives.
At the end of the negotiations, the delegation headed to the Aina-Tash gorge, where they visited one of the artificial glaciers located in the village of Kok-Tash in the Leilek district.
Artificial glaciers are a new method that allows for the accumulation of water in the winter period for subsequent irrigation of fields in spring and summer, which is especially relevant for areas experiencing a shortage of water resources.
Currently, there are seven artificial glaciers functioning in the Batken region, located in the villages of Gaz, Sogment, Bulak-Bashy, and Kayindy in the Batken district, as well as in Aibiyke, Kok-Tash, and Sumbula in the Leilek district.
As a result of the winter season, more than 1.5 million cubic meters of water have been accumulated in these glaciers.
This initiative is being implemented with the support of international partners and is aimed at the sustainable development of the region in light of climate change.
