Travel to Umrah has been temporarily restricted in Kyrgyzstan

Tour operators have been advised to suspend the organization of Umrah trips until the situation improves.



During a meeting held at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, issues of citizen safety and the organization of Umrah were discussed. The press service of the muftiate reported on this event.


Representatives from various state structures participated in the meeting, including the Secretary of the Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations, as well as employees of the State Agency for Civil Aviation, airlines, and travel companies.


In his address, the Supreme Mufti Abduaziz Qari Zakirov noted the current state of affairs in the world and potential threats to the citizens of Kyrgyzstan. He called on all participants for joint support and organized efforts.


During the meeting, representatives of state bodies shared information about the security measures that have been implemented. It was emphasized that the primary priority should be the protection of citizens until the situation stabilizes. The key role of airlines and travel agencies in ensuring safety was also highlighted.


Measures to protect Kyrgyz citizens planning to travel to Saudi Arabia and issues regarding the return of those who are already there for Umrah were also discussed.


As a result of the meeting, it was decided to temporarily restrict travel for Kyrgyz citizens to perform Umrah until the situation improves.


Travel and airline companies have been advised not to organize such trips until the situation normalizes.


Additionally, work has begun to resume delayed flights through alternative routes involving airlines such as Jazeera Airways, Flynas, Air Arabia, and other carriers.
