Officials denied the facts of violations of sanitary standards
The main department for urban planning and architecture of Bishkek denied information about violations of sanitary norms during the construction of a 4-storey building in the village of Orto-Sai, located in the Oktyabrsky district.
According to an official document issued by the Tash-Töbö rural administration in 2018, this cemetery was recognized as closed. Based on this document, the project materials were analyzed in accordance with legislative requirements, and after completing all necessary procedures, a permit for the commencement of construction work was issued, which started in 2024 on Imanalieva Street.
It is also worth noting that according to current sanitary norms, the sanitary protection zone for closed cemeteries must be at least 50 meters.
Topographic measurements showed that the average distance between the construction site and the cemetery is from 60 to 70 meters. Thus, the information circulated on social media that the construction is taking place only 30 meters from the cemetery is not true," the agency explained.
"There are questions from the public regarding the fact that the cemetery, previously considered closed, is now being used again. It is important to note that issues concerning the status of the cemetery, its closure, or further use are within the jurisdiction of local authorities," the representatives of the department added.
At the same time, the Main Department for Urban Planning and Architecture of Bishkek relied on official documents and current legislation at the time of their analysis when issuing construction permits," the agency added.
