In order to organize the cemeteries in the protective zone of the Sulayman-Too museum complex, an interdepartmental commission has been formed. This decision was initiated by an order from the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy.

The commission is headed by the First Deputy Minister Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov. Its composition includes representatives from various agencies, including the city administration of Osh, the city council, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, imam-khatibs, scholars from Osh State University, and museum staff.

The main task of the commission is to preserve the historical and cultural heritage, improve the environmental situation, enhance fire safety, and bring the cemeteries into proper condition.

At the first meeting, key areas of work were identified, such as improving sanitary conditions, strengthening fire safety measures, phased dismantling of inappropriate structures, and conducting explanatory work with the population.

As a result, a comprehensive action plan will be developed. Before the dismantling begins, it is planned to obtain a fatwa from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims.

Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov noted that the issue of the condition of cemeteries at Sulayman-Too is raised annually. According to him, metal structures negatively affect the appearance of the area, and dry grass often becomes a cause of fires.

“We held the first meeting and discussed a phased action plan. Active work will begin in April,” he added.
