Racketeering and bullying - frequently manifested forms of violence in schools of Kyrgyzstan
Today in Bishkek, the results of a study dedicated to violence in the school system of Kyrgyzstan were presented. An expert in this field, Cholpon Akmatova, highlighted the main types of violence that students face. Racketeering, or extortion, is the most common and criminalized form of violence in educational institutions. This phenomenon manifests itself in the dominance of older or stronger students who force younger ones to pay "tribute" in the form of money, food, or valuables.
