Adylbek Kasymaliev: The Budget of Kyrgyzstan Has Ceased to Be Socially Oriented

The Government of Kyrgyzstan has announced a new development-oriented budget

Today's budget of Kyrgyzstan can be characterized as development-oriented. This was stated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev in his interview, discussing the current state of government expenditures.

According to Kasymaliev, the government aims to achieve a consolidated budget volume of 1 trillion soms by 2027.

“Recently, I submitted a draft of amendments and additions to the budget for the current year to the Jogorku Kenesh. We plan for the budget to amount to 1 trillion 93.1 billion soms. At the same time, the revenue part of the republican budget will be increased from 430 billion to 605.5 billion soms. Total budget resources will also grow from 586 billion to 939 billion soms,” the Prime Minister said.

Kasymaliev noted that while previously budget expenditures were mainly directed towards social needs, the focus is now shifting towards development.

“Now our budget can indeed be called a development budget: about 35–36 percent of the allocated funds go to the real sector, around 23 percent — for social needs, more than 20 percent — for salary payments, and 6 percent — for capital expenditures,” he added.
