- In the Bayetovsky aiyl aimak of the Ak-Talinsky district, work has begun on the construction of irrigation canals and a daily water regulator to provide irrigated lands with irrigation water. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The district water management department is responsible for the inter-farm main canal "Chon-Baktygul," from which the R-2 canal branches off, with a length of 4.1 km. A concrete cover will be installed on a section of 2.7 km, which will save water and reduce losses due to filtration.

“The canal was built in 1960 and over time lost its channel, turning into a ravine. As a result, water losses due to filtration increased, water distribution facilities ceased to function, and bridges for vehicle passage became unusable,” the statement said.

A total of 17.7 million soms has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The work is being carried out by the Ak-Talinsky district water management department.

As part of the project, it is planned to restore 8 water distributors and build 3 new bridges. Local residents are involved in the work, with wages paid based on the volume of work completed.

After the installation of the concrete surface along the R-2 canal is completed, 305 hectares of agricultural land will be supplied with irrigation water.
