Kyrgyzstan Plans to Achieve $1 Billion in Critical Mineral Exports by 2030

- By 2030, Kyrgyzstan intends to increase the export of critical minerals to $1 billion. This estimate is presented in the draft Program for the Development of the Critical Minerals Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030.

The Ministry of Nature of the Kyrgyz Republic developed this document.

The program includes the following key objectives:

• attracting $700 million in the form of foreign direct investments in the critical minerals sector by 2030;

• implementing at least five new investment projects in this field by 2030;

• creating 30,000 jobs in the sector by 2040, with an emphasis on employing local residents;

• increasing the share of women working in this area to 15% by 2030;

• training and retraining specialists according to industry standards, including the development of the "competent persons" institute CRIRSCO;

• improving the environmental efficiency index of the Kyrgyz Republic to the level of the middle third of the global ranking (positions 60-120) by 2040.

• achieving a "high" rating in accordance with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
