On January 16, an off-site meeting of deputies from the Jogorku Kenesh representing the "Mekentchil" and "Ata Jurt" groups took place at the landfill in Bishkek.

During the meeting, the deputies were introduced to the operation of the waste sorting line and the modern eco-technological plant that produces electricity through the disposal of solid household waste.

It was previously reported that $95 million was invested in the implementation of the project, and 12 hectares of land were allocated for the construction of the plant. The entire project was completed in 1.5 years, with a concession period of 35 years.

The plant will be able to process up to 365,000 tons of waste annually and generate 30 MW of electricity. This corresponds to a saving of 80,000 tons of coal and a reduction of CO₂ emissions by 100,000 tons. In the first phase, it is planned to process 1,000 tons of waste per day, with subsequent increases in volume and the creation of new jobs.
