Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated significant progress in reducing its external debt, as reported by Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev in one of his interviews.

According to Baketaev, the issue of external debt remains an important topic for the country. He noted that over the past four years, significant results have been achieved in reducing the debt burden.

The minister emphasized that under the president's directive, the task was set to reduce the level of external debt, which currently stands at 37%, marking a significant achievement.

According to the audit results from international financial organizations, including the Asian Development Bank, Kyrgyzstan's external debt has been recognized as sustainable and manageable.

"All obligations are being met on time, and the country has the opportunity to repay part of the debt early. However, at this moment, premature decisions in this direction seem impractical," added Baketaev.

He also noted that citizens should not worry about the state of external debt, as the government's financial policy is aimed at ensuring stability and strengthening the economic resilience of the country.
