Gold reserves at 'Kumtor' increased by more than 268 tons
The increase in reserves is partly due to the processing of tailings resources
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the mining industry of Kyrgyzstan showed positive trends in 2025. In 2024, gold reserves at 'Kumtor' increased by 147.4 tons.
In the following year, 2025, resources from the mine's tailings, amounting to 121 tons of gold and 225 tons of silver, will be added to the state balance. This tailings processing project is planned for 17 years, which will not only extend the operational life of the deposit but also create new jobs and increase revenues to the state budget.
Additionally, positive changes have been observed in the coal industry. During the reporting period, over 30 licenses were issued, and more than 20 new coal sites were put into operation. These measures are aimed at improving the country's energy security, especially during the winter season.
