The salary in the Ministry of Construction causes envy
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce explained the reasons why prices in Kyrgyzstan continue to rise.
According to the agency, the consumer price index, reflecting the level of inflation, was 9.4% at the end of 2025, while the average annual inflation rate was 8.2%.
In particular, there has been a significant increase in food prices: meat has risen by 13.6%, vegetables and fruits by 19.1%, bread and cereals by 3.8%, dairy products, cheese, and eggs by 5.5%, and alcohol and tobacco by 8%.
The ministry highlights several factors contributing to this increase. Among them are seasonal demand, annual increases in excise taxes, rising wheat prices in Kazakhstan, as well as increased logistics costs, rising prices for feed and fuel, transportation costs, and purchase prices for livestock. Additionally, demand for products in neighboring countries and global inflationary processes also have an impact.
