Fines for Violations in the Halal Industry are Introduced in Kyrgyzstan

Fines will range from 7,500 to 23,000 soms

The Kyrgyz Republic plans to introduce administrative measures of responsibility for non-compliance with the requirements of legislation in the halal industry. This proposal was discussed at a recent meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which is responsible for finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development.

According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov, the current law "On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic" already contains provisions for fines for violations. However, these provisions have not yet been incorporated into the Code of Offenses.

In this regard, it was proposed to introduce a new article into the code concerning "Violations of the Requirements of the Legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Field of the Halal Industry."

The draft law stipulates that for the sale of halal products and halal services without the appropriate documents, the following fines will be applied:
— 7,500 soms for individuals;
— 23,000 soms for legal entities.

Additionally, for non-compliance with the process of confirming the compliance of halal products and services, legal entities face a fine of 13,000 soms.

Following the discussion, the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved this draft law in the first reading.
