This draft law is aimed at social protection and meeting the needs of citizens, as well as ensuring food security. It provides for the possibility of temporary state regulation of prices for socially significant goods and services if other methods of addressing issues negatively impact the level of competition.
The state may introduce price regulation for a period of up to 90 days within a year, with the possibility of extension in accordance with established legislative procedures, for:
- socially significant goods and services provided by both economic entities and individuals, the list of which will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers;
- socially significant goods and services offered by dominant economic entities.
