The volume of gas sales for vehicles in Kyrgyzstan has increased threefold over the past five years. This was announced at a briefing by Arzymat Aldayev, Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan.

According to Aldayev, the company makes a significant contribution to improving air quality in Bishkek.

Since the start of its operations, Gazprom Kyrgyzstan has increased the volume of natural gas sales in the country by almost 2.5 times — from 200 million to 550 million cubic meters by 2025. This means that approximately 350 million cubic meters of gas have replaced electric energy and coal.

In addition, the sector of compressed natural gas is actively developing. In cooperation with the city administration, a project is being implemented to introduce gas buses.

“Over the past five years, the volume of compressed natural gas used for cars and buses has increased from 25 million to 75 million cubic meters — almost three times. This has likely contributed to the replacement of diesel minibuses and taxis,” noted Aldayev.

Furthermore, more than 50 private gas boiler houses have been installed in new apartment buildings in Bishkek. This helps reduce the load on centralized heating, which in turn has a positive impact on the environmental situation in the capital.
