The Ministry of Transport initiates a PPP project to collect funds from freight and passenger transport

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan has announced the launch of a public-private partnership project aimed at implementing an electronic system for collecting fees from trucks and buses, as well as automated control of weight and dimension parameters on public roads.

This initiative is aimed at attracting additional resources for the maintenance and development of road infrastructure, as well as protecting roadways. As part of the project, it is planned to install 42 automated control points across the country.

The automated systems will be capable of recognizing vehicle license plates, tracking their movement using navigation technologies, and recording violations of weight and dimension standards. Fines for exceeding the standards will be automatically imposed.

The project will be implemented under a PPP model, where the private partner will take on the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the system. Upon completion of the contract, all created infrastructure will be transferred to the state.

The Ministry of Transport also noted that both domestic and foreign companies with experience in information technology, intelligent transport systems, and infrastructure solutions can participate in the competition.
