
During the meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, held on February 16, current information about Kyrgyzstan's state debts was made public. In response to a request from deputy Dastan Bekeshev, Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akzholov shared the latest data on state borrowings.
As of today, the total volume of the state debt of the republic amounts to 8 billion 850 million dollars. Of this amount, 5.2 billion dollars pertains to external borrowings, while the remaining 3.5 billion dollars is the internal debt owed to local creditors and holders of government securities. These figures have become the central topic of discussion regarding the financial sustainability of the budget for the current year.
