During the discussion on the budget, finances, and competition development, he also announced a draft agreement with the International Development Association, which plans to provide the country with $1 billion 26 million 760 thousand from 2026 to 2028.
As Akzholov noted, of this amount, $32.7 million will be allocated as a grant, while $994 million will be a loan for a term of 25 years with an interest rate of 1.5% and a five-year grace period.The planned funds will be distributed as follows:
- economic support - $400 million;
- energy, including the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 - $362.7 million;
- water resources and irrigation - $180.2 million;
- digitalization - $61 million.
In response, Akzholov reported that as of November 30, the total national debt amounted to $8 billion 850 million, of which $5 billion 288 million is external debt, and $3 billion 561.5 million is internal debt. He added that the impact of the new funds from the IDA on the total debt size would be minimal.
