The Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate 200 thousand hectares for migrants

The discovery of 614 thousand hectares of abandoned land was the result of an audit conducted by the government. Of this area, 200 thousand hectares will be allocated for agricultural needs, as reported by Zhanibek Kerimaliev, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, at a meeting of the parliamentary committee dealing with agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, and environmental protection.

“We are ready to allocate 200 thousand hectares, which will create new jobs and support labor migrants. We are prepared to assist those who wish to work the land by providing plots with water and electricity. Migrants will invest in fencing their plots, as well as in purchasing equipment for drip and sprinkler irrigation to engage in agricultural activities. Applications from interested parties are already coming in,” Kerimaliev clarified.
