In Kyrgyzstan, state support for cooperatives has been strengthened
As part of the cooperative support program, farmers will be provided with modern agricultural machinery. It is expected that by 2026-2027, thanks to cooperatives, it will be possible to cultivate about 2000 hectares of agricultural land and create more than 120 new jobs. These measures are designed to enhance farmers' capabilities and stimulate economic activity in rural areas.
The agricultural development strategy of Kyrgyzstan is focused on sustainable growth. Among the main priorities are the preservation of soil fertility, rational use of water resources, reduction of chemical fertilizer consumption, and support for biodiversity. It is also planned to strengthen international cooperation and exchange experiences with advanced countries, along with the implementation of innovative technologies to enhance the sector's competitiveness.
“Smart” greenhouses play a key role in this process.
In such greenhouses, automated systems manage climate, ventilation, and heating; drip irrigation and plant nutrition technologies are adapted to the needs of various crops. This allows for an increase in yield by 25-35 percent, as well as more efficient use of water and fertilizers.
Additionally, an important aspect of the program is the introduction of high-yield and drought-resistant varieties of agricultural plants. For example, new hybrids such as DroughtGard corn have high drought resistance, which contributes to yield stability.
The ministry emphasizes that only through a combination of modern technologies, cooperation, and environmental responsibility can sustainable development of the agricultural sector be ensured. Support for farmers and the implementation of innovations open new horizons for effective agricultural development in Kyrgyzstan.
