Goals for 2024:
Main Directions of Development
The government emphasizes the creation of a sustainable structure for agricultural production. In livestock farming, the priority will be improving the breeding base as well as applying intensive feeding technologies.
The development of programs aimed at organic farming and the halal industry will allow Kyrgyzstan to occupy more advantageous positions in export markets.
In crop production, the main focus will be on the use of high-quality seeds and modern agricultural technologies.
Digitalization and Irrigation Systems
To enhance the efficiency of the agricultural sector, it is planned to implement artificial intelligence technologies, drones, and precision farming systems.
Additionally, the modernization of water resources includes the reconstruction of 5,000 kilometers of canals and the introduction of automated water distribution systems.
Measures will also be taken to encourage farmers to switch to drip and sprinkler irrigation.
Infrastructure and Workforce Training
The creation of agro-clusters and trade-logistics centers will ensure the integration of producers into a single chain. As part of the technical upgrade, the training of qualified personnel will also begin. A system of grants and internships will be developed for young people to attract new specialists to the agricultural sector.
The Republic's Development Program emphasizes that measures for climate change adaptation, including the development of drought-resistant crops, will ensure the long-term stability of agriculture.
