The following tariffs have been established for 2026:
- 15 tyin per 1 cubic meter during the growing season (for active irrigation);
- 5 tyin per 1 cubic meter during the non-growing season.
In 2025, farmers paid a fixed amount of 500 soms per hectare; however, this system did not satisfy many farmers, which served as the reason for changing the pricing approach.
As Tynaliev noted, the new price remains socially oriented. Despite the fact that the actual cost of a cubic meter of irrigation water is 87 tyin, the government does not plan to raise tariffs to this level due to the difficult socio-economic situation in the country.
As for forecasts for the upcoming season, accurate data from the Hydrometeorological Service will be available in April. Nevertheless, representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture previously stated in parliament that a water shortage is expected in Kyrgyzstan this year.
