Cryptocurrency exchanges required to increase capital to 300 million soms by July 2026

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, issued a decree regarding the minimum charter capital for cryptocurrency exchanges—operators of virtual asset trading.

According to the new decree, starting from July 1, 2026, the minimum charter capital for all cryptocurrency exchanges will be set at 300 million soms.

Existing market players are required to adapt their capital requirements by the specified deadline.

The document emphasizes that the collected charter capital must be directed towards ensuring liquidity for operations with virtual assets in accordance with the country's legislation.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to develop the necessary measures for the implementation of this decree within three months.

The decree will come into effect 10 days after its signing.
