Currently, a five-year program aimed at developing the country's economy is being implemented, which was updated and adopted in June 2025 with the president's approval. This document outlines the priorities of economic policy for the period until 2030.
According to preliminary data, Kyrgyzstan's GDP last year amounted to approximately 22 billion dollars, and GDP per capita exceeded 3,000 dollars. The goal for 2030 is to increase this figure to 4,000–4,500 dollars.
Among the main areas of development outlined in the program are:
- industry;
- energy;
- transport and logistics;
- sustainable tourism;
- organic agriculture and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
Sydykov also emphasized that various measures are being implemented, including a moratorium on business inspections.
“Our main goal is to support small and medium-sized enterprises, the share of which in the economy continues to grow,” the minister noted, adding that in 2024 this sector accounted for 42–43 percent, and by 2025 it increased to 51 percent.
The moratorium on inspections implies a suspension of state inspections by most agencies until the end of 2026; however, the tax and customs services will continue their work.
These measures are aimed at reducing the administrative burden on businesses and improving the interaction of small and medium-sized enterprises with government structures.
