
More than 5,600 units of equipment are involved
The project for the construction of a railway connecting China and Uzbekistan through the territory of Kyrgyzstan continues to actively develop. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
As part of this initiative, a meeting was held with the participation of Erlis Akunbekov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, as well as representatives of working groups.
Delegates from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture, as well as employees of "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" and the joint company "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" were present at the meeting.
According to the ministry, more than 5,000 workers and over 5,600 units of equipment are currently involved in the project. At this stage, the preparation of the main project documents has been completed, and clarifications of drawings and approvals of necessary documentation are underway.
Large-scale works are ongoing at the construction sites, such as tunnel excavation, earthworks, and bridge construction. To date, more than 3.5 million cubic meters of earthworks have already been completed.
