Starting April 1, a new procedure for the export of cash rubles from Russia to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will come into effect. As reported by RBC, citing the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the export of amounts exceeding $100,000 is allowed only through 17 designated airports.

The list of approved airports includes key Moscow air hubs: Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, and Domodedovo, as well as airports in other cities such as Khrabrovo (Kaliningrad), Tolmachevo (Novosibirsk), and Balandino (Chelyabinsk).

These measures were developed in accordance with a presidential decree concerning restrictions on the import of cash into the EAEU, which includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry of Finance clarified that the new rules do not require mandatory declaration. Instead, citizens will need to confirm the legality of the origin of cash funds when crossing the border by providing receipts from ATMs or loan agreements.

“This is not a mandatory declaration, but a necessity to provide evidence of the legal source of significant amounts of cash,” the agency explained.

It is important to note that for individuals, documents confirming the origin of cash will only be required when exporting large sums, while for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, this will be mandatory in any case.
