During the negotiations, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kyrgyz side expressed its concern regarding the introduction of new conditions for obtaining B-1/B-2 visas. These changes, according to Kyrgyz representatives, may complicate travel for citizens and negatively impact trade and economic relations between the countries.

Details of the preparations for the "B5+1" forum, which will take place in Bishkek on February 4-5, 2026, were also discussed at the meeting. Participants reviewed organizational aspects, the event's program, and its significance for strengthening cooperation in the region.

The discussion also touched upon the current state of Kyrgyz-American relations and their future prospects.

The U.S. Ambassador noted that the tightening of visa requirements is not directed against Kyrgyzstan and is due to the overall immigration policy of the United States, as well as the necessity to comply with visa legislation.

The parties agreed to continue joint efforts to find acceptable solutions that could improve visa conditions and facilitate travel for citizens of both states.
