In 2025, a cashless payment system using QR codes was implemented at the checkpoints 'Sosnovka' and 'Kara-Kol', which allowed the collection of 300 million 266 thousand 484 soms. This is an increase of 35.48% compared to the previous year, as reported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Previously, Minister Absattar Syrgabaev initiated the transition of the mentioned checkpoints to a cashless payment system to improve service quality, minimize human factors, and combat corruption. As a result, drivers now do not have the opportunity to make cash payments.
Now citizens can pay for travel using modern methods, including QR codes, on-site terminals, or electronic wallets through mobile applications.
In connection with the implementation of the new system developed by the employees of the "Production and Innovation Center", the number of staff at the checkpoints has been optimized. Additionally, to avoid traffic congestion at 'Sosnovka' and 'Kara-Kol', the road lanes have been expanded, and two additional lanes have been constructed at these points.
