According to him, there is enough road equipment on the roads and passes of the country.
At a meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Janar Akaev stated that many vehicles returning from China were stuck in Alai and Chon-Alai. He mentioned that heavy snowfall and the use of summer tires by drivers were the reasons for the traffic jams in the passes.
He appealed to Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev for assistance and requested that road equipment be sent to ensure the passage of vehicles through the passes.
In response, Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev noted that there is sufficient equipment on the roads and passes, and it is the drivers who are the cause of the traffic jams.
“Many drivers enter the oncoming lane, thus obstructing our equipment, use summer tires, and do not put on chains, which is a violation of traffic rules. Although there were indeed difficulties with passage in conditions of fog and poor visibility, this lasted only a few hours. The main problems are the drivers themselves,” commented the Minister of Transport.
