Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, shared current information about Kyrgyz citizens located in the United States.

According to preliminary estimates, there are about 40,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan living in the U.S., including both students and labor migrants.

The Minister emphasized that citizens who are in the country without visas or in violation of visa regulations may face deportation if identified by immigration services. Approximately 20 cases of deportation have already been recorded, and as many are expected. However, if the documents are properly arranged, there are no issues with legal residency.

Kulubaev also addressed the issue of the bonds set by American authorities for entry. He noted that the amount of $15,000 is significant for Kyrgyz citizens, but it is part of the internal U.S. immigration policy.

“We are in dialogue with the American side to simplify the visa process, we have outlined our wishes and take their requirements into account,” he added.

The Minister noted that a key requirement from the U.S. is the timely preparation of necessary documents and adherence to the duration of stay for citizens who have obtained a visa. He also pointed out that similar rules apply in other countries, including Russia, and Kyrgyzstan continues to actively negotiate to protect the rights of its citizens.

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the ongoing work of agencies to legalize citizens abroad and improve consular services.
