"Is it only my responsibility to care about the health of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan?"
At a meeting of the parliamentary committee on science, education, innovative development, information technology, culture, sports, and youth affairs, Deputy Erulan Kokulov expressed his intention to file a lawsuit against the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan. The reason was the instances of advertising tobacco products and alcoholic beverages in films.
Kokulov noted: "There is open access to cigarette advertisements, for example, mentioning a double capsule. I raised this issue three years ago, but no measures have been taken. Should I go to court? Is it only my responsibility to care about the health of the nation? We see advertisements, while the law prohibits them. I am sure that the Ministry of Culture is profiting from this. We can do without films funded by tobacco companies," he emphasized.
