Deputies demanded to strengthen control over the quality of road construction

The parliamentary faction "Adilet Kyrgyzstan" held a meeting where information from the Ministry of Transport and Communications regarding the current state of construction and reconstruction of key and local roads was presented.
The First Deputy Minister Beknazar Bazaraliev reported that the plans set by the ministry were successfully completed and even exceeded. With a set norm of 1,092 km, by the end of the year, the construction and repair of 1,606 km of roads were completed, of which 1,545 km were asphalted. Currently, 13 major projects in road infrastructure are being implemented in the country.

During the discussion, the deputies emphasized the importance of increasing control over the quality of road construction, especially in the context that a significant portion of the funding comes in the form of loans. Questions were raised about the condition and completion timelines of several roads in various regions, including Naryn–Bayetov, Balakchy–Karakol, Osh–Sary-Tash–Erkesh-Tam, as well as local roads in Batken, Jalal-Abad, and Issyk-Kul regions.

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport reported that work on some projects will be completed this year, while others are ongoing according to the established schedule.

As a result of the discussion, the information from the Ministry of Transport and Communications was taken into account.

Additionally, information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry was presented at the meeting regarding the progress of work on improving the irrigation system and providing the population with drinking water. The deputies noted that it is necessary to prepare the irrigation infrastructure in advance for the spring fieldwork.
