Felix Kulov: The president was obliged to respond to the situation that could have led to a split

Public and political figure, as well as former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Felix Kulov, expressed his opinion in a recent interview with the news agency "Kabar" regarding the latest political events that have caused widespread public resonance.
He noted that the president should have reacted to the situation that could lead to a split in society and cause instability. Kulov stated: “I am against holding early elections. From a legal and political point of view, this is wrong. Unfortunately, the demands for such elections continued. A group of elders prepared and published a letter without notifying Tashiev.”

According to Kulov, under such unlawful actions, the president was obliged to take measures. He warned Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich that he was ready for decisive actions. In particular, he dismissed the chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) to prevent further use of his name for improper purposes. Moreover, the president changed the structure of the Committee, dismissing unreliable employees.

Kulov emphasized that the president fulfilled his task by preserving the reputation of his friend and colleague, with whom they achieved significant successes in the fight against corruption and organized crime. “I believe that this step will not harm his reputation, and the president acted correctly,” he added.

Felix Kulov also expressed confidence that there is no need to fear for the fight against corruption and organized crime. According to him, the president confirmed at the kurultai that this fight will continue uninterruptedly. Sadyr Japarov noted that all actions must be based on the law, and if someone has committed an offense, the matter should be considered in court.
