At the National Council, chaired by the Prime Minister and head of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, a meeting was held dedicated to issues of family, gender development, social protection, and children's rights. This was reported by the government press service.
Participants in the meeting included the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Kyrgyz Republic, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, representatives of ministries and agencies, authorized representatives of the president in the regions, as well as international organizations and independent experts.
During the meeting, seven key issues were discussed, including:
- the results of monitoring the implementation of the Program for Supporting and Developing Women's Entrepreneurship in the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2022-2026;
- information on the progress of implementing the Concept of State Policy for the Prevention of Offenses for 2022-2028, concerning the prevention of offenses and suicides among children;
- the results of monitoring the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic's Program for Supporting Families and Protecting Children for 2018-2028;
- preparation of a periodic report on the implementation of the norms of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women;
- discussion of draft Procedures for the Interaction of State Bodies that Protect Children from Violence and Corporal Punishment, and Procedures for Providing Assistance to Children Victimized by Violence;
- current data on the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child;
- development of the foundations for monitoring using digital tools to implement the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
As a result of the discussion, several decisions were made on the agenda items, and relevant instructions were given to state bodies.
In addition, the action plan of the National Council on family issues, gender development, social protection, and children's rights for 2026 was approved.
