At Manas International Airport, the construction of a new access road is planned, which will simplify access to the terminal complex and implement an automated toll payment system. This initiative was discussed at a meeting between the Chairman of the Board of OJSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan" Manasbek Samidinov and the Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev. The participants discussed the stages of project implementation and the development of transport infrastructure in the vicinity of the airport.
The project involves the construction of a road approximately 1.6 km long, which will run south of the existing main road from Bishkek to Manas Airport. A roundabout is planned at the turn to the village of Mramornoye, which will simplify entry onto the new road. The initial part of the road will consist of two lanes, then it will expand to eight lanes in the area of automated toll booths, and then narrow back to two lanes leading to a multi-level parking lot. The outbound road will start from the parking complex and will also be two-lane, expanding to six lanes before the payment area, after which traffic flows will be directed through the roundabout towards Bishkek.
In addition, landscaping is planned between the entrance and exit roads. The main goal of the project is to create a modern transport corridor, increase capacity, reduce congestion, and implement an efficient toll payment system. The existing road will continue to be used only for access to the "Manas-2" terminal complex and for servicing official delegations and government convoys.
