With the onset of winter, there is an increase in the number of citizens in Kyrgyzstan seeking medical assistance for various injuries and fractures. In response, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund clarifies whether payment is required for procedures such as X-rays and casting.
The Fund reminds that emergency and urgent medical care is provided to all citizens without exception, regardless of the presence of a mandatory health insurance policy.
What free assistance for injuries includes:
consultation and examination by a doctor;
X-ray;
pain relief;
casting and other emergency procedures.
Important to know about consumables
If the medical institution lacks necessary medications or medical devices (for example, pins for fracture fixation), the doctor must inform the patient about this.
The patient has the right to purchase medications independently only if they are not available in the institution. A list of free medications and medical devices should be posted in an accessible location in each medical institution for review.
