Health Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov recently visited the "Maksat" center to assess the current conditions for providing assistance to children and the possibilities for further development.
The new rehabilitation complex will focus on children with various conditions, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, as well as developmental delays and other disorders. It will include inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centers, a correction center for children with autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome, as well as a modern center for children with cerebral palsy with 150 places. There are also plans to create a dormitory for parents and medical staff, as well as an educational and methodological block.
The complex will feature rehabilitation halls, a hydrotherapy pool, physiotherapy, massage, sensory integration, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychology offices, as well as areas for occupational therapy and open play spaces with elements of hippotherapy.
Work in the complex will be based on the principles of evidence-based medicine and a multidisciplinary approach, with individualized rehabilitation programs involving families. Special attention will be paid to the training of specialists and the implementation of a family-oriented model of care.
This project supports the priority areas of state policy in child health care and rehabilitation and is seen as an example for expanding similar practices in other regions, which will improve the quality and accessibility of assistance for children.
