The Republican Prosthetic and Orthopedic Institution under the Ministry of Labor continues its active work aimed at providing people with disabilities with modern prostheses and mobility aids.
During the reporting period, the number of individuals receiving services for the manufacture and repair of prosthetic devices and individual mobility aids increased by 7% compared to 2024, reaching 11,500 people (10,700 people in 2024).
This year, 123.0 million soms were allocated for the financing of the institution, which is 10% more than in 2024 (111.8 million soms). This budget increase has allowed for an expansion of the recipient base and the implementation of new technologies in the field of prosthetics.
Currently, production modernization is underway using allocated budget funds amounting to 97.8 million soms. Contracts have been signed in accordance with the KR Law "On State Procurement," and the supply of modern equipment that meets international standards is ongoing, as well as the organization of training for staff to operate the new machines.
New models of orthopedic footwear and modern prostheses for upper and lower limbs are also being developed, taking into account the individual needs of patients and utilizing advanced technologies. For the first time, prosthetists have created the active traction prosthesis "Kibi" and the bionic prosthesis "Indi" from the company "Motorika," which is a resident of Skolkovo, for children.
From 2023 to 2025, 34 children received "Kibi" and "Indi" hand prostheses, with 76% of them funded by the republican budget.
Additionally, as part of a cooperation memorandum with the Korean laboratory "FabLab" in Bishkek, two electronic hand prostheses for adult citizens were manufactured and provided as a result of successful collaboration.
