


The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanibek Dosmambetov, held a meeting with Mikhail Albertovich Murashko, the Minister of Health of Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the conversation, the Kyrgyz delegation expressed gratitude to their Russian colleagues for their active assistance in organizing the negotiations, the friendly reception, and the constructive approach. It was noted that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia has strategic significance and is based on many years of trustful dialogue.
The topics of discussion covered the interests of citizens from both the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. In particular, the parties considered the possibility of continuing the practice of allocating quotas for Kyrgyz citizens in need of treatment in Russian medical institutions, including high-tech assistance.
During the negotiations, attention was also focused on personnel development and strengthening professional ties. The prospects for expanding educational opportunities for young doctors from Kyrgyzstan were discussed, including training in residency programs at Russian medical universities in in-demand specialties such as neurosurgery, oncology, cardiac surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, neonatology, pediatrics, genetics, and laboratory diagnostics.
Additionally, the topic of organizing internships and professional development programs for Kyrgyz doctors at leading medical and scientific institutions in Russia was addressed. The Kyrgyz side reported that the ministry is preparing proposals for internship directions.
In the field of high technologies in medicine, the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in joint projects, such as the establishment of a nuclear medicine center in Kyrgyzstan with its own cyclotron-radiopharmaceutical production. It was discussed that certain elements of the project are already being implemented with the support of JSC "Rosatom," as well as the inclusion of the initiative in the country's state plans, where phased work is planned to create a regulatory framework, conclude contracts, and begin design work in 2026 with the aim of completion by 2030. The parties also shared opinions on possible formats for cooperation, including expert and technological assistance, as well as access to modern technologies and methods.
The exchange of experience between medical professionals from both countries was also discussed, including joint operations and the expansion of scientific interaction. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Kyrgyz side emphasized respect for the advanced practices and management experience of Russia in healthcare, expressing interest in studying and adapting it considering national specifics, including the reform and management of medical institutions.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and expand cooperation, focusing on practical solutions aimed at improving the accessibility and quality of medical care for citizens of both countries.
