The incident led to a mass evacuation of residents
In Oklahoma, a large number of people were hospitalized due to an ammonia leak that occurred in the city of Weatherford. According to local authorities, 36 individuals require medical assistance, 11 of whom are in critical condition.
The leak occurred from a tanker trailer containing 25,000 pounds of ammonia. As a result of the incident, about 500 people were evacuated from the danger zone.
The police also reported that 14 law enforcement officers were affected by the toxic gas, five of whom suffered chemical burns to their airways.
