The operation involves the counter-terrorism department, which received information about possible attacks on non-Muslims ahead of the holidays. As a result of the conducted activities, searches and arrests were carried out at 124 addresses. During the searches, pistols, ammunition, and numerous documents related to ISIS were seized.
According to information from the Prosecutor General's Office, during the investigation, it became known that 137 suspects maintain connections with conflict zones. Operations to arrest the remaining suspects are ongoing, TASS reports, citing a statement from the prosecutor's office.
Furthermore, as reported by sources from "Kommersant," Turkey is considering changing the format of its military operations in Syria and Iraq. This decision was made after the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a long-standing adversary of Ankara, announced at the end of October the withdrawal of its forces from Turkish territory and their redeployment to northern Iraq. Despite the disappearance of the main reason for these operations, Turkey intends to continue its military missions.
