The Istanbul prosecutor's office reported the issuance of arrest warrants for 137 individuals suspected of preparing terrorist attacks timed to coincide with the celebration of Christmas and New Year. These actions were initiated at the call of the terrorist organization "Islamic State." Currently, 115 people have been detained, according to RIA Novosti.
The arrests were made after the anti-terrorism bureau of the prosecutor's office received information about planned attacks on Catholic Christmas and New Year, related to calls from ISIS. Among those arrested are individuals who maintained connections with militants in conflict zones.
"Arrest warrants were issued for 137 suspects residing at 124 addresses, charged with terrorism, including international crimes. Currently, 115 have been detained, and efforts to apprehend the others are ongoing," the prosecutor's office stated in a press release.
